Ticket Forgiveness - How to Avoid Paying Too Much For Traffic Violations

!±8± Ticket Forgiveness - How to Avoid Paying Too Much For Traffic Violations

One way the state of California has given drivers a break on the high cost of tickets is making available traffic school as an option. Myth or Fact -Even if you go to traffic school you'll still have to pay for the ticket which can run you hundreds, even thousands of dollars, depending on the violation, but once you've completed traffic school you won't be charged on your car insurance - you've stopped the bleeding. But what if you don't go to traffic school or you're not eligible, you pay the price of the ticket and then your car insurance goes up even more for the next three years.

An example is a single, minor violation can raise your premium by 5 for a year. Over just three years, you will have spent ,425 more for your car insurance!

Some of the limitations in California involve, once you attend traffic school, you can't do this again for eighteen months (each state has different rules so please check with your DMV). If you go to traffic school one summer, then the following spring you get a speeding ticket because it's too soon to go to traffic school again, you used to get hit with a "double whammy," having to pay a steep fine and getting hit with an increase in your car insurance, too.

Today's ticket forgiveness on car insurance means that your insurance company will not charge you for one ticket, even if you've attended traffic school in the past. Here's an example: You get pulled over and get a speeding ticket, you go to traffic school. Then six months later you get a stop sign violation, you can't go to traffic school but you do have the forgiveness plan on your insurance - your rates will not go up! It can add up to a great deal of savings, as you can see in the above example. But remember, this does not come automatically, you have to add it to your car insurance policy.

Tip: If you are a California traffic school graduate, please review your auto insurance policy to make sure you have the forgiveness program built in, so that you are protected from a policy increase during those crucial eighteen months when you are not allowed by law to repeat traffic school.

Saving California Commercial/Truck Drivers Cash on Insurance

Obviously, there is a lot for a CDL truck driver to worry about, so California truck drivers will be relieved to know that Allstate accident forgiveness program can at least keep the cost of insurance reasonable. As mentioned above, California law lets most drivers attend traffic school for a minor speeding ticket or moving violation in exchange their insurance won't go up. Unfortunately, CDL drivers aren't given this option in California. But ticket forgiveness through insurers such as Allstate, the first auto insurance company to offer these options in the state of California, can keep rates lower for professional truck drivers by not raising rates after the first ticket.

Compare California Car Insurance Plans

You can also be pro-active in order to save money on your auto insurance. With Allstate Insurance forgiveness programs these are two ways to save some green, but these focus on keeping your rates low in the event of a problem. You can actually reduce your current rate with a Safe Driver Bonus just by being a good driver! In fact, you can get 5% off your premium renewal bill every six months that you are accident free, putting money back in your pocket. You'll also get the deductible reward program: 0 off of your collision deductible immediately and then another 0 every year after that (up to 5 years).

Cheap Car Insurance - Pros and Cons of Different Provider Types

!±8± Cheap Car Insurance - Pros and Cons of Different Provider Types

There are three main ways to shop and buy insurance for your car, and there are pros and cons to each. Online shopping and purchasing offers very convenient 24 hour ability to manage your insurance with keyboard strokes and mouse clicks. The only way to receive an accurate quote is by providing personal information such as your full name, address, phone number, date of birth, and social security number. Entering your personal information on the worldwide web is a hazard. Another problem with this method of quoting and buying is the inability to take advantage of a knowledgeable "live" insurance agent. Each auto insurance company has their proprietary method for segmenting or categorizing their rates into different tiers. Each tier determines the price that is applied, to the options chosen, on an auto insurance policy. A mouse, keyboard, and interactive software will not inform you of which options to select, for access to the lowest price tiers.

A captive insurance agent is one that represents a single company such as Allstate. Captive agents from reputable companies go through a rigorous screening process before they are allowed to represent the company. They are professional trusted advisors who are thoroughly trained and managed by their companies. Captive agents know how their companies tiering system works "hands down" and will apply that knowledge to individual circumstances to gain the lowest price. The Allstate agent, and other captive agents, only represent one company and will not provide you with a comparison price from other top companies.

Independent insurance agencies represent a variety of companies. If the independent agency represents well established, highly rated companies, such as Progressive, AIG, Mercury, Travelers, etc... then this agency has undergone a thorough screening process. A good independent agency will find you the right company with their lowest price tier, providing the best value for your auto insurance policy. Also, a good independent agency will provide this service at each renewal interval or when a substantial change to your policy, like adding a youthful operator, affects the price.

Small Business Finance - How to Calculate Your Needs

!±8± Small Business Finance - How to Calculate Your Needs

Your optimism on the future of the business may overshadow the crucial aspects and specific details required in keeping the business on the progressive status. Sometimes, owners happen to be very aggressive and confident in terms of financial standing that they tend to become very lax when dealing with borrowing money. This creates a big problem since every cent of the money borrowed needs to be put into proper use. Unfortunately, what happens to some is that when they have the chance to borrow money, they borrow more (or less) than they require.

So when it is time for you to take a small business finance, you have to know how to calculate your needs.

There are several factors that affect the amount of money you need. They are worth discussing one by one.

Credit rating - The eligibility for a loan, especially on small business finance, is based mainly on the credit rating of the person. A good credit score means higher amount of loan and lower interest rate. Tip: Obtain a copy of your credit report long before you approach a lender. With a good lead, you have enough time to improve it further or to have your score fixed should there be any inaccuracies. Also gather all your business documents. This includes financial statements with attachments and schedules, tax returns, financial statement (interim year-to-date), and other documents that will help the lender assess your loan application. By doing so, the processing time is reduced.

Savings - Establishing a business or keeping a business running requires a good capital. Pulling out money from your saving will significantly reduce the amount of money you require for a loan. Tip: before you borrow money from lender, tap your resources first. This can cut the amount of money borrowed and the interest you pay, which in turn will increase your profit further.

Expected return/monthly expenses - Before borrowing money, project the amount you can afford to pay back. Your expected income minus the monthly expenses should be well over your loan payment.

Amount required - How much money do you need? Where should the loan go? These 2 questions should be answered first before you go to a lender. You do not simply say, "as much as you can lend" when you asked by the lender on how much money do you need. A reply like this will definitely shut your chances of getting a loan. Have a good estimate of how much money you need. Know where the money should be spent. This way, you can better plan the repayment or project whether or not you can afford to pay the loan back. Another good thing about knowing exactly how much you need is you can carefully manage your finances against other factors that were mentioned above.

Your credit rating, savings, expected return, monthly expenses, and amount of loan required should therefore be included when calculating your needs.

How to Calculate Your Needs?

Once you know where the money should go, identify which items are optional and which are necessity. Having a good funding on your small business is imperative but creating an impartial judgment towards management of funds will bring you a long way. Pinpoint the total amount of money you need by enumerating the small detail. For example, the start up expenses you may include: installation of fixtures and equipment, fixtures and equipment, decorating and remodeling, starting inventory, licenses and permits, legal and other professional fees, deposits with public utilities, consulting and software, advertising and promotion for opening, cast, etc.

Then ask yourself, "Can you afford to pay for the loan?" Borrowing is easy, paying it back can be a problem. So to make sure that you can afford to pay the money back, make a good projection of the future income of your business. Compute your monthly expenses which may include the following: monthly expenses, salary of owner-manager and staff, rent, supplies, advertising, telephone, utilities, delivery expenses, insurance, interest, taxes, maintenance, legal and other professional fees, etc. Deduct these expenses from the projected monthly income. Is your net income more than enough to pay your loan? If yes, then the loan can be borrower. If not, then it is not worth the risk.

Finally tap all your available finances. Do not rely entirely on your lender. Subtract the amount of money you need from your savings. The difference should only be the money you should borrow.

Personal Or Commercial Auto Insurance?

!±8± Personal Or Commercial Auto Insurance?

When you own an independent business or are self-employed, sometimes it can be difficult to decide if you need personal or commercial auto insurance. Many people make the mistake of thinking that commercial insurance is just for businesses. This is false - it depends on the type of vehicle you own, and how you use it. Some independent business owners may believe they don't need commercial policy, but they really do. Don't make wrong decisions because you aren't sure what you need; you could eventually regret it later.

Benefits of Commercial Auto Insurance
Commercial policies tend to have higher liability limits than a personal policies, and they can usually cover multiple vehicles. You can also have your employees and co-workers listed as covered drivers on your policy. Also, having a commercial insurance, when required, keeps you legal. This is enough of a reason to make sure you've got it right.

Personal Auto Insurance Might Exclude Coverage
Personal policies might exclude coverage if you're involved in an accident while using your vehicle for business. In general, if you use your vehicle for any type of business, you probably should have a commercial policy. Some examples of business use include delivery or transportation services, such as pizza and newspaper delivery, or using your vehicle to drive to multiple worksites or meet with clients every day.

Other Types of Commercial Insurance Coverage
It's a good idea for independent businesses to purchase Non-Owned auto insurance and Hired auto insurance.

Non-Owned auto insurance provides coverage to employees that occasionally use their personal vehicles for business purposes. Hired auto insurance provides liability coverage for vehicles driven that you or your business do not own, such as rented vehicles. Definitions and requirements for each type of policy can differ by state. Not all types of vehicles will be covered by a commercial policy, such as emergency vehicles and double-decker buses, so it's important to check with your insurance provider to see what types of vehicles can be insured.

It's always best to talk to a professional when buying insurance for your business. This can save you time and money while eliminating the hassle of having to dig for answers yourself. Most companies are more than willing to walk you through the process over the phone. Try to be prepared to be able to answer basic questions about your company and your vehicles when you decide to call. If you're not sure what type of information you'll need for a quote, a company representative will be glad to help you. You might be surprised how quickly you can become fully protected just by picking up the phone.
